Join us in spreading cheer this holiday season by taking part in Service Club's Holiday Food Drive Competition. Rally your class, raid the grocery aisles, and stack those cans high. Boxes in the office will be labeled with each class name. The class that piles up the most nonperishable food by Friday, December 12th, wins bragging rights… and a mystery holiday prize. Teams consist of each grade level and the staff. Food donated must be nonperishable. The competition starts now. Ready…set…donate!
There is a saying, "It is better to give than receive," so consider giving a new unwrapped toy to Toys for Tots! All toys stay in Door County and the collection box is in the office. The deadline is December 11th.

This week, our new SBHS Hope Squad is hosting our first monthly event. Hope Squad's mission is to promote mental wellness, prevent suicide, and strengthen our school community through peer support, education, compassionate leadership, and school events that bring students together and show the power of connection. We will have an awareness campaign with the theme of "It's Okay Not to be Okay" This Friday, we will have a GREEN OUT for the entire school to help show how the color green represents and respects Mental Health Awareness. Watch for important information on our new bulletin board by the high school commons. Our Hope Squad members will be stationed at our table during lunch this Friday to hand out GREEN BANDANAS and special information cards to help explain our mission. Bring your GREEN bandanas to the home boys varsity basketball game this Friday night to cheer on the Clippers against Southern Door and we will have more handouts at a station by the door plus a chance to win some prizes!
What's Next? Wednesdays It's time again, on each Wednesday, to share a little bit of information about some of the opportunities you have available to you after high school. We call it "What's Next? Wednesdays," and each week, we will share a bit of info and hopefully a celebration for each of our seniors as they work to decide on those next steps. We could not be more excited to kick off this year's series with a celebration for Miya Nell. Students, we're excited to share some incredible news and highlight an amazing opportunity available to high-achieving students nationwide. QuestBridge is a national nonprofit that connects outstanding students with some of the country's top colleges. Through the National College Match program, students can earn full four-year scholarships that cover tuition, housing, meals, books, and more—an award valued at nearly $400,000 at some partner schools. One of those schools is Stanford University, located in the heart of California's Silicon Valley. Stanford is known worldwide for its academic excellence, groundbreaking research, and vibrant campus community. It consistently ranks among the top universities in the world and offers exceptional programs in fields ranging from engineering and the sciences to humanities, the arts, and social sciences. Today, we are incredibly proud to celebrate MIya Nell, a senior here at Sturgeon Bay High School, who has been selected as a QuestBridge Match Scholar and has officially matched with Stanford University. This means Miya has earned a full scholarship—valued at nearly $400,000—that will fully support her academic journey. This is an extraordinary accomplishment and reflects Miya's dedication, leadership, and never-ending hard work. Please join us in congratulating her on this life-changing achievement. We are so proud of you, Miya!
The following students should report to Mrs. Gigstead's room 110 after school today: Miley Rodd, Shaye Santy, Lucas Taylor, Hunter Taylor & Landis Walker.
